Today, August 8, 2016, we lost a wonderful friend, great horseman, a loving family member and a loving partner (Jim Bossert), Dave Roberts, to a massive stroke at the age of 67. Dave was loved by so many people not only in the horse community but by people in every walk of life who knew him. He was a warm, funny, loyal, sensitive and down to earth man who people gravitated to and relaxed with.
Dave met Burt and Nancy Grundy in 1976 and boarded his paint games horse "Red Mans Patch" at their farm. He then started showing and training horses for the Grundy's, and campaigned their stallion "Kings Royal Bid". In one particular year he showed at 52 shows. He was an active member of the Eastern Ontario Quarter Horse Association, Shilo Horse Club, Ottawa Valley Western Horse Association, Leeds and District Horse Club, and other local clubs. Dave was always willing to help out in whatever capacity he was needed. His most recent involvement with EOQHA was as whipper in for a year at the Carp shows. Dave was a very special person who loved life and lived it to the fullest
Our thoughts and prayers are with Dave's loved ones at this very sad time. He will be missed but his memory will live on in those who knew and loved him
Thanks to all of EOQHA's exhibitors, sponsors and volunteers. Our shows would not happen without all of your help and support!

See you soon!
The EOQHA has three Awards that are presented annually to members who go that extra bit out of their way to help others or the club. These Awards are presented annually at the Spring banquet.
